We invite the community to collect the urban waste and in return we will exchange it for free rice.
There are currently 4.7 million plastic bags used in Kathmandu, Nepal on the daily basis. Without any inadequate waste management system in place, streets and rivers are flooded with plastic waste. This particularly affects the slum areas of Nepal, where the community face health hazards due to the ever growing urban pollution and where poverty perpetuates pollution further.
Sansar empowers the community to tackle the thriving waste problem by providing each waste collector an exchange of rice per kilogram of plastic collected.
Sansar commits to providing a sustainable waste management solution that empowers local individuals and communities, changes damaging behaviours and supports some of the major industries in Nepal.
URBAN WASTE COLLECTED
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
